The following challenges can be used as
are or adapted for use with Year 1 or Year 2 children. The children
should be introduced to the new commands as necessary. Each challenge
should be followed by a discussion of the problems that the children
encountered and a run-through of how the challenge was completed.
1. Can you use the FD command to get the turtle
to stop at the very top of the screen?
2. Can you use the RT command to make the turtle
perform a quarter turn?
3. Can you use the RT command to make the turtle
perform a half turn?
4. Can you use the RT command to make the turtle
turn all of the way around?
5. Can you use the FD and RT commands to get the
turtle to draw a square?
6. Can you use the FD and RT commands to get the
turtle to draw an oblong?
7. Can you use the FD, RT and LT commands to get
the turtle to draw a staircase? |
